The Chotay Pad Mantra or Sat Narayan is a traditional Sikh mantra from India. It connects us with water as an element, and helps us flow smoothly through life.

In Sanskrit, one of many names for water is "naara" which also means "human". "Ayana" means path as a goal.
We could translate Narayan as "water in motion, flowing" or as "the way of men". Narayan is the aspect of infinity related to water, Hari Narayan is the creative substance and those who sing it become intuitive.
